Duane Rutter is set to release his third recording titled Crazy Things on October 23rd on Busted Flat Records.
Crazy Things features some of the finest musicians anywhere including Andrew Aldridge, Nick Burson, Carrie Ashworth and JB Reed as well as pedal steel ace, Steve Wood.
Adding to this incredible line up is Rock and Roll, Juno and NYC Blues Hall Of Famer (and founding member of The Band) Garth Hudson as well as his wife “Sister’ Maud Hudson”.
“This album is a significant departure from my earlier work, as it’s musically more aggressive and sonically experimental. The opportunity to work with one of my heroes, Garth Hudson, was an amazing experience as he is truly one of modern music’s great minds”.
“I am a lifelong Fanatic of The Band, so that really added to the surrealness of the recording process. Sister Maud really brought it all home with her vocals on “Take That Water”. All the players on the album are absolutely stellar and I simply couldn’t be more proud of what we’ve come up with”
Crazy Things is a collection of songs that combine traditional country with outlaw sensibilities tinged with modern sounds and a hint of psychedelia.
The album was recorded at Grant Avenue Studios in Hamilton and Clubhouse Studios in Rhinebeck, NY. It was mixed and mastered by Nick Blagona and fetaures guest appearances from Lisa Winn and Mark Lamala.
