Jay Semko is known worldwide as singer/songwriter/bassist with multi-platinum 2012 Western Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductees the Northern Pikes, and as an award winning music composer for numerous film and television productions, including one of Canada's most successful internationally syndicated series, "Due South".
Jay's songwriting and composing for film & TV has earned 2 Canadian Music Publisher Association Awards, 5 Juno Award nominations as a member of the Pikes, and 2 Gemini (and 1 Canadian Screen Awards) nominations for his music for the screen.
He has co-written with many well-known songwriters in Canada and beyond, won the 2012 SCMA Award for Best Roots Album for "Force Of Horses", received multiple 2013 SCMA and 2011/2012 Western Canadian Music Awards nominations, among many others.
In addition to Jay's numerous albums with the Northern Pikes, Jay now has 9 solo releases on Canada's premiere roots/alternative label Busted Flat Records.
Jay has toured across Canada numerous times, played at SXSW in Austin, Texas, and also performed at the International Folk Alliance Conference in Memphis, Tennessee.
He has received many stellar reviews, and his solo albums have charted highly on the Canadian !earshot Folk/Roots/Blues charts with airplay on Country radio, CBC, and independent radio all over the world.
His latest album, "Sending Love", features 11 songs written by Jay, all lyrically woven in a tapestry of love, sensuality, and spirituality.
